Lisa Bervinchak Love ’89 H&HD completed her 29th season as a Penn State assistant coach last fall. She will begin her first season as head coach in August. Bervinchak Love was announced as the sixth head coach in program history in February, five days after her mentor, Char Morett-Curtiss ’79 H&HD, retired. “I’m super excited to take over,” Bervinchak Love said. “I’ve learned from the best. Moving forward, we’re in a good place.”
A first-team NFHCA All-American in 1988, Bervinchak Love joined the coaching staff in 1994 and helped the team win seven Big Ten championships and reach three NCAA semifinals, including in 2022. “She’s someone that gets Penn State,” Morett-Curtiss says. “Someone that understands gratitude, someone who’s going to continue to uphold the core values of pride and respect.”
