Education alum earns national teaching award

Hollylynne Lee ’91 Edu, a distinguished professor of Mathematics and Statistics Education at North Carolina State University, is the 2022 recipient of the Robert Foster Cherry Award for Great Teaching.

As part of the prestigious national teaching award, presented every other year by Baylor University, Lee will receive a $250,000 award and is expected to teach in residence at Baylor during the 2023 spring semester.

Lee, a former grade-school teacher, previously was honored with the UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching and selected as one of the American Statistical Association(ASA) Fellows, both in 2020.
