Mission: Seeking solutions to poverty at Penn State and beyond.
Students United Against Poverty formed last fall to continue the work of the Student Advisory Board on Student Poverty. The organization aims to combat basic needs insecurity and actively support students facing hardships. It built a basic needs hub stocked with clothing and hygiene products in the Student Care and Advocacy office, and worked with that office to apply for a $60,000 Hunger Free campus grant. “We hope members will be inspired to continue this work after they graduate,” says co-founder Najee Rodriguez.
