FOUNDED: 2012

CURRENT MEMBERSHIP: 30+

MISSION: To aid students in the pursuit of the field of dentistry and to provide opportunities both socially and through philanthropy.

Aspiring dental students in the club learn about academic timelines and how to reach out to professionals about shadowing opportunities, participate in suture clinics or pumpkin carvings to sharpen their dexterity, and go on volunteer trips to practices in Guatemala and Costa Rica during spring or winter breaks. Members also receive advice from club alumni who are practicing dentists, says volunteer chair Kyra Pires. “It is a very niche type of career,” Pires says. “Not everybody thinks of dentistry when they think of health care.”
