Founded: 2012

Current membership: 40–50

Mission: To foster friendly intrasquad competition and to compete in national tournaments.

Any Penn State student is welcome to join this informal club, which holds regular scrimmages in the White Building, but its travel team competes in one to two regional tournaments per month in the National Collegiate Dodgeball Association, which grew from 25 teams two years ago to 33 last year. If that number reaches 75, says senior and club president Claudio Tapia-Manon, dodgeball could be eligible to become an NCAA varsity sport. The club collects annual dues and cleans Beaver Stadium to cover travel and equipment expenses; in return, members enjoy “a good way to relieve some stress,” Tapia-Manon says. “And it creates a lot of friendships.”
