This year’s Alumni Achievement Award winners, all 35 or younger with exceptional professional accomplishments, span careers as diverse as the academic colleges that nominated them. “The Alumni Achievement Award honorees are always an inspiring group, and this year’s class is no exception—they really make us proud,” says Ryan Jones ’95 Com, interim executive officer of the Alumni Association. “It’s humbling to learn just how much these Penn Staters have already accomplished in their careers.”
The honorees returned to campus in March to share their expertise with students, faculty, and administrators.
Gabrielle (Gabi) Chappel ’16 Com, ’16 Lib, is a farm-to-table chef, educator, and media personality who won Fox’s Next Level Chef season three. She graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education’s Health-Supportive Culinary Arts program.
Shah Rafayat Chowdhury ’18 Agr is president and co-founder of Footsteps Bangladesh, which addresses extreme poverty challenges across Bangladesh. Footsteps has empowered over 700,000 people through initiatives focused on safe water accessibility, sanitation, environmental sustainability, and disaster risk reduction.
Kenya S. Crawford ’15 H&HD is the CEO and founder of Cultivating Healers, and is an award-winning licensed psychotherapist and racial equity consultant. She supports therapists in building anti-racist, inclusive practices through training sessions, support groups, and coaching.
Asia Grant ’17 Bus Hon is a creative entrepreneur, content creator, and co-founder of the award-winning fragrance brand Redoux, launched in 2019 with Penn State alumnus Alejandro Cuevas ’18 IST Hon. Grant oversees product design, market research, fundraising, and revenue strategy for the vegan skincare brand. She also founded Scent Social Club, which runs the Nolita Perfume Tour in New York City.
Victoria Heasley ’14 Eng Hon, ’18 MD Medicine is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, as well as a physician at UC Health and a team physician for UC Athletics.
Ryan Henrici ’15 Sci Hon is senior director of translational research at BigHat Biosciences, where he leads the development of next-generation antibody therapeutics for patients with challenging diseases.
Korrin Moon ’23 JD Law is the president and co-founder of Lantern Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to combating human trafficking worldwide. Lantern Rescue trains and supports law enforcement, prosecutors, and communities.
Connor F. Sattely ’11 Behrend Hon is an entrepreneur and venture capital expert who works with founders and investors worldwide. Sattely also serves as the impact measurement expert for the World Summit Awards, a United Nations–aligned global startup competition.
