SHANGHAI CHAPTER

Members of the Penn State Shanghai Chapter earned second-place honors last November in the U.S. University Alumni Turkey Bowl, a flag football tournament organized by the U.S. Consulate General Shanghai and NFL China. The chapter’s team was one of six who signed up to compete in the round-robin-style tournament; they reached the title game against a joint team of alumni from Ohio State and Wisconsin.

POTOMAC VALLEY CHAPTER

In December, chapter members partnered with local business owner Paul Gorgol ’79 Sci to “Cram the Van” with 27 bags and four boxes of donated hygiene products for SHIP of Frederick County’s Homeless for the Holidays hygiene drive, which benefits homeless children in Frederick County, Md.

CONNECTICUT VALLEY CHAPTER

Members continued their 30-year tradition of chartering buses to transport students home for the holidays. About 300 Penn State students filled six buses over the Thanksgiving break, and two more buses brought students home for the winter break in December. Proceeds benefit the chapter’s endowed freshman scholarship fund.

NEW YORK CITY CHAPTER

The chapter celebrated its 3,000th follower on Instagram in December, an increase of almost 2,000 since August 2023. In that time, social media director John Colwell ’16 WB has worked to engage more with current students and new graduates online, and created a social media internship for a Penn State student.
