1960s

Michael A. White ’66 Lib (ΤΦΔ), principal attorney at the law offices of Michael A. White LLC, was awarded the Hustisia (Justice) Award by the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The award is presented to those who have shown dedication to the principles of justice and a commitment to service. This is only the third time the award has been presented in the 35-year history of the court. He lives in Saipan, CNMI.

 

1970s

Steven H. Lupin ’70 Lib, a partner at law firm Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, has been selected to the 2024 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list in the areas of business litigation, general litigation, and personal injury. He lives with his wife, Linda Lupin ’71 Lib, in Blue Bell, Pa.

James R. Antoniono ’71 Lib (Lion’s Paw) is serving a term as vice president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA). He has previously served as PBA’s treasurer and is a member of the organization’s LGBTQ+ Rights, Minority Bar, and Quality of Life/Balance committees. He lives in Greensburg, Pa.

Steven Weisberg ’72 A&A was appointed to the board of directors of the Birren Center for Autobiographical Studies. Founded by Dr. James Birren, a pioneering scholar at the University of Southern California, the center focuses on research and education in the art of autobiography. Weisberg lives in Aventura, Fla.

Michele M. Tellep ’74, ’88 PhD Edu and Andrew Tellep ’74 Edu celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2024. They live in Mar Lin, Pa. Their son: Michael ’13 Eng.

Nancy Conrad ’77 Edu has been named president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA). A partner with Philadelphia-based White and Williams LLP, Conrad is co-vice chair of the PBA Federal Practice committee and a member of the PBA Commission on Women in the Profession Executive Council. She lives in Emmaus, Pa.

Stuart H. Fine ’77 H&HD and his wife, Sandra, made a generous gift to Montgomery County Community College’s nursing program that will help further the college’s commitment to excellence in nursing education. The Fines have had long careers in health care—he has served as CEO of not-for-profit health care systems in North Carolina and Pennsylvania and also as associate professor and program director in health care management for Temple University’s Fox School of Business and College of Public Health. They live in Landsdale, Pa.

Dennis A. Whitaker ’79 H&HD, ’88 Law, a partner at Hawke McKeon & Sniscak, is teaching administrative law at Widener Commonwealth Law School. He also reviewed the statutory basis of federal Clean Water Act jurisdiction and more in a podcast for LearnFormula. He lives in Harrisburg, Pa.

 

1980s

Steve A. Hann ’80 EMS spoke at a national webinar titled “Complying With NPDES Industrial Stormwater Requirements.” His presentation focused on stormwater pollutants and the development of total maximum daily loads. He lives in Jamison, Pa.

Jane Mack ’80 H&HD, CEO of Friends Services Alliance (FSA), won the Female Executive of the Year award in the nonprofit category at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. She was also inducted into the 2024 McKnight’s Hall of Honor in May, a distinction awarded to individuals who have made lasting impacts on the aging services field. She lives in Centre Hall, Pa.

Eugene R. Bauer ’81 Bus retired from the NASA office of the Inspector General on Dec. 30, 2023, after more than 36 years of federal government service. He lives in Alvin, Texas.

Starr Rosenhand Diethorn ’82 Bus (ΔΣΦ, Golden Key) published the second book in her Berkshire Hills mystery series, Death at Kismet. She lives in Long Valley, N.J.

Jeffrey Kunkel ’82, ’95 PhD A&A was recently named professor emeritus of Montclair State University in Montclair, N.J., where he spent the majority of his career teaching in the areas of jazz studies and music education. He lives with his wife, Mauria, in Pittsburgh.

Louis D’Ambrosio ’86 Bus has been elected to the board of directors of Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theater. A partner at Goldman Sachs, he served as CEO of Sears and Avaya and as a senior executive across multiple industries. He lives in Wayne, Pa.

Mike Stahl ’88 EMS (Blue Band) retired from the Central Intelligence Agency after 25-plus years of service, first as an imagery analyst and later as a targeting officer. He also worked as a cartographer and terrain analyst for the Defense Mapping Agency and the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. He lives in Rockville, Md.

GayMarie W. Vaughan ’89 Edu (ΔΔΔ) earned a doctorate in liberal studies  from Southern Methodist University in July, with a focus on ethics and human rights. She lives in Dallas.

 

1990s

Kimberlee Kiehl ’90 Edu was named executive director of the Ohioana Library Association in Columbus. The library collects books written by Ohio authors or illustrators, as well as books that are written about Ohio or Ohioans. She lives in Lewis Center, Ohio.

CHILDHOOD EMPOWERMENT: Freelance writer Christine McLaughlin ’91 Lib co-authored Growing Feelings: A Kids’ Guide to Dealing With Emotions About Friends and Other Kids, a guidebook for navigating the complexities of childhood emotions and friendships.

 

Brian Weis ’91 Sci completed the Daring Compassion Movement of Chaplaincy Training from the Faith Matters Movement and The School of Global Citizenry. He lives in Sellersville, Pa.

Shawn A. Kachmar ’94 Sci has been named managing partner of law firm  HunterMaclean in Savannah, Ga. He joined HunterMaclean in 2000 and has built a strong practice in employment law and business litigation. He lives in Savannah.

Evan Wolkofsky ’95 Bus was named general counsel for the Foundation For The Carolinas, the fifth-largest community foundation in the country. He and his wife, Robyn Wolkofsky ’95 H&HD, a physician assistant at Memory & Movement Charlotte, live in Charlotte, N.C., with their three children.

Kelly A. Mroz ’96 Lib, assistant general counsel, The Pennsylvania State University, is serving the second year of a three-year term as treasurer on the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Board of Governors. She is chair of the planning committee and a member of the Commission on Women in the Profession, among others, and has been a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates since 2018. She lives in State College.

Nathan E. Feather ’98 Bus, CFO of PrimeRevenue, a leading provider of financial technology solutions, was named 2024 CFO of the Year in the small private business category by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.  He’s held several financial management roles at large corporations including Ariba, PwC, and FreeMarkets. He lives with his wife, Robyn Feather ’99 Bus, and their three children in Mableton, Ga.

Rebecca Morris ’00 Edu (Blue Band, Parmi Nous) published the book The School Librarian’s Compass: Stories and Reflections to Help You Find Your Way in June 2023. She is a teaching associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information. She lives in Allison Park, Pa.

Paul Walsh ’00 Sci was promoted to senior lender/senior vice president for PS Bank. He has been with the bank since 2015 as a commercial loan officer. He lives with his wife, Gina, and their two children in Jermyn, Pa.

Rodgers ’01 Lib was appointed senior procurement executive, chief acquisition officer, and director of the Office of Acquisition and Assistance for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). He previously served as director of NASA’s Office of Procurement Strategic Operations Division in Washington, D.C. He lives in Arlington, Va.

Lisa Diane Kastner ’02 MBA Bus has written a new novel steeped in Viking history and werewolf mythology, Family Pack, a sequel to her first novel, Cure. She is the founder of Running Wild Press and lives in Springfield, Pa.

Lisa Marzka ’02 Com, ’24 MEd Edu was promoted to director for major gifts for Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture. She lives in State College.

Joseph John (JJ) Van Wezenbeeck ’02 H&HD is director of player promotions for golf company Titleist. He helps fit some of the best golfers in the game and travels the world for all of golf’s majors and PGA tour events. He is also a frequent guest on the golf podcast Chasing Scratch. He lives in Oceanside, Calif.

Chad Brindle ’05 Com, ’12 MEd Hbg earned his Doctor of Education and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility, Educational Leadership, and Administration from Immaculata University in March 2022. He is a high school principal in York, Pa., where he lives.

S. Saliya Subasinghe ’05, ’06 MS Eng joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner in the firm’s Trial Practice Group in its Austin, Texas, office in 2023. Subasinghe previously was a partner at Culhane Meadows Haughian & Walsh PLLC. She lives in Austin.

Jillian Dougherty Pratt ’06 Lib, ’06 Lib was named partner at Morton, Valihura & Zerbato LLC in Greenville, Del. She and her husband, Jim ’06 H&HD, and their twin sons live in Kennett Square, Pa.

Gary Cimperman ’07 Lib, ’09 MA Hbg, former tournament and assistant camp director at High Performance Tennis Academy, was honored when the academy received the award for Best Youth Sports Program by Family Focus Media in May.

Deanna Grandstaff ’07 A&A (Blue Band) has been selected as a Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation 2024 Music Teacher of Excellence, one of 30 music teachers selected each year. She lives in Pittsburgh.

SIX TIMES A WINNER: Justin Haley’s childhood passion for Penn State football inspired an award-winning career in sports journalism. An associate director and producer for CBS Sports, Haley ’08 Com won his sixth Emmy—for outstanding live coverage of Super Bowl LVIII—earlier this year.

 

Michael Morgan ’08 Bus published his first book, The Power of Networking: Strategies for Career Excellence, Job Development, and Building Greater Triumphs in Your Work. One of the book’s chapters details his experience as a Penn State undergrad. He lives in Austin, Texas.

Jacklin B. Rhoads ’08 Edu is currently the director of public relations and marketing for Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. Prior to this role, she worked for Sen. Bob Casey Jr. in his Washington, D.C., office and for the state attorney general’s office. She lives in Warminster, Pa.

Steven Simoni ’08, ’11 MEng Eng founded the hospitality technology startup company Bbot, which supported hundreds of restaurants, bars, and hotels nationwide with online ordering solutions and helped many to stay afloat throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Bbot, a fully remote company with more than 80 employees, was acquired by DoorDash in March 2022. Simoni lives in Alexandria, Va.

 

2010s

Emily Gray ’11 Agr has joined the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) as chief development officer. She has more than a decade of experience in capital campaign management and will spearhead the organization’s fundraising efforts with a focus on major gifts. She lives in Southbury, Conn.

John F. McCaul ’11 Lib, a lawyer at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, has been elected to the board of directors for the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN). The organization looks to strengthen the food security safety net system in Montgomery County, Pa. He lives in Narberth, Pa.

Brian Seelinger ’13, ’15 MBA Bus Behrend joined Knox Law and will focus his practice on business and tax, public finance and bonds, and employee benefits. He is a CFA and previously served as senior portfolio manager and vice president of a publicly traded state bank. He lives in Erie, Pa.

Michael Tellep ’13 Eng (Blue Band) and Karyn Hosler-Tellep ’16 A&A (Blue Band) celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on May 11, 2024. They live in Lewisburg, Pa.

Eric W. Teitsworth ’14 Agr completed his doctorate in wildlife science from North Carolina State University. He and his wife, Taylor Breidenbaugh Teitsworth ’15 Sci, live in Durham, N.C.

Joey Niedziejko ’17 Com is a senior account executive for Philadelphia-based PR firm B2 Communications. He creates public relations plans and implements content development tactics for the agency and its clients. He lives in Philadelphia.

Aubrey Swanson Dockery ’18 Lib is a self-taught graphic designer whose projects earned Muse Silver Corporate Brand Identity, Muse Silver Social Media/Live Event and Muse Gold Corporate Identity awards this year. She lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Lia Cubilete ’19 Nur (THON) acted in Ghostlight, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. She lives in Chicago.

 

2020s

Joshua A. Capets ’22 Eng (TKE) was named a distinguished honor graduate of the Marine Artillery Officers Basic Course. He was also promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant USMC. He lives in Carlsbad, Calif.

Gabriella Achampong ’24 Edu was selected in the fourth cohort of the Marshall-Motley Scholars Program (MMSP), a Legal Defense Fund program that provides a full law school scholarship and professional development in return for a commitment to devote the first 10 years of their career to practicing civil rights law in service of Black communities in the South. She lives in Fayetteville, Pa.
