National Champions

2015 womens soccer team

The women’s soccer team was merely a No. 6 seed in the 2015 NCAA tournament, but once the postseason began, coach Erica Dambach says, “we were flying on all cylinders. There was this swagger to the way we carried ourselves, something that had been missing. Once it’s there, you know that could be the key to winning the championship.” Raquel Rodriguez ’17 H&HD, who won the Hermann Trophy as the best player in women’s college soccer, scored the only goal in the Lions’ 1-0 victory over Duke in the title game.  —BR
