Then & Now: The Corner Room

The iconic eatery has fed generations of Penn Staters.

Jack’s Road House restaurant opened in 1855 and, as part of the Hotel State College, was renamed The Corner Room in 1926. Standing at the corner of College Avenue and Allen Street, the iconic eatery—shown above, in the early 1940s—and the Allen Street Grill, which is directly above it, have fed generations of Penn Staters.
