2010s

Nia Grant ’14 Com (Volleyball), a pro volleyball player and two-time NCAA champion, was named head coach of the girls team at St. Benedict’s Preparatory School. She lives in Newark, N.J.
Christopher L. Stroup ’14 Eng (Schreyer), a lead wealth adviser at Abacus Wealth Partners, was named a “40 Under 40” honoree by Investment News. He lives in Santa Monica, Calif.
John McCaul ’11 Lib joined law firm Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin as an associate. He lives in Narberth, Pa.
Michael Biarnes ’11 Sci wrote a book, Redefining Success. Prior to being an author, he worked in various roles in the health care sector, including oncology, diagnostics, neuroscience, and cardiovascular disease. He lives in Arlington, Va.
Cara DeSanto ’11 Edu and her significant other, Anthony, had their first child, Nico John, in September 2020. They live in Dunmore, Pa.

Joanna M. Nestler ’05 Sci married Joshua Jacobson ’08 Bus on May 23, 2021. Joanna is a physical therapist at Hershey Medical Center and Joshua is a contracting officer for the U.S. Navy. They live in Harrisburg. Her parents: Debbie Burton ’77 and Robert Nestler ’76. His father: Les Jacobson ’88 JD Law.
Brian J. Ellis ’02 Lib , a principal at Bressler, Amery & Ross PC, was elected chair of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee of Schreyer Honors College Scholar Alumni Society Board--—an affiliate group of the Penn State Alumni Association. He lives in the New York City metropolitan area.
Adam Kruppa ’01 Lib (NROTC) retired from the U.S. Navy on June 1, 2021, after 23 years of active service. His last position was as officer-in-charge for the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He was recently named senior naval science instructor at Cherokee High School in Marlton, N.J. He lives in Royersford, Pa.
Susan Mickey Rux ’00 Sci , the founder and CEO of SR Strategic Solutions LLC, was named a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. She has more than 25 years of experience in health care and serves as the dean of academic affairs at Chamberlain University’s North Brunswick, N.J., campus. She lives in North Brunswick.

Jeffrey M. Casaletto ’96, ’98 MEng Eng , a member of law firm Norris McLaughlin PA and co-chair of the firm’s Environmental Law Group, was ranked “Up and Coming” in the Environment section of Chambers USA for 2021. He lives in Ringoes, N.J.
Adam Boynton ’95 H&HD , the director of campus stores for Follett Higher Education at Dallas College, was named the P.R. Litzinger Store Manager of the Year by Follett Higher Education Group for developing and implementing a no-additional-cost course supplies program for students. He and his family live in Frisco, Texas.
Ulrike Brisson ’95 PhD Lib was promoted to teaching professor in the Department of Humanities and Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She teaches German language, culture, and literature courses, and has advised students at the institute’s locations in Namibia and Switzerland. She lives in Rockport, Mass.
Jonathan Wasey ’94 Bus joined SECU Financial Partners as an LPL financial adviser. He has more than 24 years of experience in the financial services industry. He lives in Germantown, Md.
Dennis Butler ’93, ’95 MS Eng, an intellectual property attorney and partner at Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP, was named to the 2021 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list by Super Lawyers. Butler was the commencement speaker at the 2021 spring commencement ceremony for Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology. He lives in West Chester, Pa.
Valerie Jackson ’92 Bus , a senior marketing manager at RTA Architects, was awarded the 2020-21 Marketer of the Year Award by the Colorado Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services. She lives in the greater Colorado Springs area.
Theodore J. Zeller ’92 JD Law , a member of law firm Norris McLaughlin PA and chair of the firm’s Liquor Law, Licensing, Manufacturing, and Distribution Industry Group, was included in Lehigh Valley Business’ “Power 30 in Law” listing for 2021. He lives in Allentown, Pa.
Leonard R. Paranac ’91 MEd Edu retired in 2017 after working as an elementary school teacher and school administrator for more than 38 years in Pennsylvania and Virginia. After retiring from his career in public education, he worked in customer service at Kroger for three years. He and his wife, Pam, live in Bristol, Tenn.
Marc A. Ross ’90 Lib, ’93 JD Law is head of impact & ESG at Vicente Sederberg LLP, where he will be spearheading a new practice serving the cannabis and hemp industries. He lives in Englewood, Colo., with his wife, Barbara Tocker Ross ’95 JD Law, and their son.

Alan Piciacchio ’89, ’91 MS EMS (ΔΥ) , a data scientist in IBM’s Global Technology Services Division, was promoted to the position of distinguished engineer. He lives with his family in Beacon, N.Y.
Diane M. Phillips ’88, ’99 PhD Bus , a marketing professor at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, published her first book, Consumer Behavior & Insights. She lives in Chester Springs, Pa.
Richard Hasz ’87 Sci is now the president and CEO of the Gift of Life Donor Program, for which he previously served as vice president of clinical services since 1999. He lives in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Michael Buckholt ’87 Sci was promoted to teaching professor in the Department of Biology and Biotechnology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He teaches environmental biology, anatomy and physiology, and ecology and animal behavior. He lives in Charlton, Mass.

Lee Price ’83 Lib , the director of development at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts, is the 2021 recipient of the Spotlight Award from the Society of American Archivists. He lives in Philadelphia.
Eric Jones ’83 Bus , the senior managing director of advisory solutions at TIAA, was named treasurer of the executive committee of Creating Healthier Communities’ Diverse Board. He lives in New York.
Robert G. Reiser ’83 Agr retired as a supervisory hydrologist after more than 35 years with the U.S. Geological Survey at the New Jersey Water Science Center. He lives with his wife, Lisa, and children in Langhorne, Pa. Sister: Eleanor Reiser Price ’93 Sci.
Steven A. Hann ’80 EMS , a partner at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin PC, spoke at two virtual workshops on stormwater-related issues for the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, as well as on a webinar for the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association on issues related to COVID-19 and municipal authorities. He lives in Jamison, Pa.

Steve Narolski ’78 Agr retired with honors from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration in the Desert Southwest Region. He has spent his whole career as a professional forester. He lives in Goodyear, Ariz.
Tom Giotto ’76, ’78 Lib was featured in a COVID-19-related article in Duquesne Lawyer magazine. Giotto is head of the labor and employment practice of law firm Cozen O’Connor. He lives in Pittsburgh.
Barbara L. Hollenbach ’75 Lib, ’78 JD Law , a member of law firm Norris McLaughlin PA, was selected for inclusion in the 2021 edition of Super Lawyers. Hollenbach also served as moderator for the “Legal Updates” panel of the Pennsylvania 20th Annual Workers’ Compensation Conference hosted by the state’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. She lives in Bethlehem, Pa.
Robert W. Martucci ’75 H&HD retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry after 35 years of service. A Vietnam War veteran, he also served in the U.S. Army for 30 years. He and his wife, Sharyn, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2021. They live in Peckville, Pa.
Peter M. Mecca ’75, ’87 PhD Edu retired after 16 years as a science teacher at public schools in Falls Church, Va. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of biology at the University of Maryland Global Campus. He lives with his wife and daughters in Herndon, Va.
Dean Winslow ’74 Sci (Track, Cross Country), a professor of medicine at Stanford University and senior fellow, by courtesy, at the Center for International Security and Cooperation, is on leave from teaching while he serves as senior adviser to the CDC’s COVID-19 Testing and Diagnostics Working Group in Washington, D.C. He is also on active duty with the California State Guard. He lives in Stanford, Calif.
Gregory Guise ’74 H&HD , a video journalist of 45 years and multi–Emmy Award winner, was inducted to the Silver Circle of the Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He also previously served two terms on the Alumni Society Board of Penn State’s Bellisario College of Communications. He lives in State College.
Bill Seibel ’73 Eng , an adviser to the CEO at Matter Unlimited, a strategic and creative agency, published his first book, Press Go: Lessons Earned by a Serial Entrepreneur. He lives in North Falmouth, Mass.
John Rath ’73 Bus (ΣΧ) retired after 47 years as a project accountant with Bechtel Corp. He and his wife, Eddy, live in El Sobrante, Calif.
Rebecca Pruss ’73 Edu and husband, Joseph ’73 Agr , celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2021. They met at Penn State and were married in Eisenhower Chapel. They live in State College. Her brother: Ron Ruman ’81 Com.

Steven H. Lupin ’70 Lib , a partner at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, was named to Super Lawyers’ 2021 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list. He was recognized for the practice areas of business litigation, general litigation, and personal injury—general: plaintiff. He and wife Linda ’71 Lib live in Lansdale, Pa. Joel S. Dickson ’70, ’71 MEd Edu (AROTC) and his wife, Carolyn M. Scott Dickson ’69, ’71 MEd Edu , celebrated 50 years of marriage on Sept. 4, 2021. They were married in Eisenhower Chapel at Penn State. Now retired, they live in Freedom, Pa. Children: Eric ’98 Eng; Brett DeAngelis ’99 EMS; Andrea DeAngelis ’00 H&HD.
Mark N. Cohen ’70 Bus and his wife, Carol Chazanoff ’70 Lib , celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22, 2021. They are retired and live in Havertown, Pa. Children: Justin ’97 Bus; Stacey ’01 Lib.
Gerald Slotkin ’70 Lib and his wife, Lynn Hendler Slotkin ’69 A&A , celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in August. Gerald retired in 2014 after 27 years in outside sales, 25 years in the printing industry, and nine years in the automotive industry. Lynn retired in 2016 after 25 years as an art teacher at the Deerfield School in Mountainside, N.J. They live in North Brunswick, N.J.

George C. Radic ’69 Eng (AFROTC) and Judith A. Vrabec Radic ’70 Edu celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2021, with their family in Destin, Fla. George and Judith are retired and live in Huber Heights, Ohio.
Barry M. Simpson ’69 Bus (Alum. Council), the executive director of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, was appointed chair of the Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts board by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He and his wife, Kathryn Lease Simpson ’69 Edu, who is an attorney and shareholder at law firm Mette, Evans, and Woodside, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 6, 2021. They live in Harrisburg, Pa. Children: Bradford ’03 Lib, ’06 MBA Hbg; Caroline ’04 Com.
Jerry Zolten ’69 PhD Lib , a professor of communication arts and sciences and integrative arts at Penn State Altoona, was awarded Penn State’s 2021 Lion’s Paw Medal. He has been teaching at Penn State Altoona for 40 years and has developed courses in public speaking and American culture. He lives in Warriors Mark, Pa.
Stephen A. Walker ’69 Sci , a shareholder at law firm Lewis, Longman & Walker PA, was recognized as a leader in environmental law by Chambers and Partners legal directory.
