David Morrell is no stranger to having his work adapted for the screen: his 1972 novel, First Blood, was the inspiration for the Rambo film franchise. Next up for Morrell ’67 is a return to the small screen, as Deadline reported that a new series is in the works about John J. Rambo and his son titled Rambo: New Blood.
The series’ executive producer will be the star of the series, Sylvester Stallone. There’s no word on what Morrell’s role will be, but according to his IMDb page, he is a writer for a Rambo television project. There is no word on when the show will debut, but it will reportedly air on Fox. It’s also not 100 percent clear if this show will go beyond a pilot, as Morrell tweeted that Fox is only paying for a one-hour script.
