Our September/October issue, which is in the mail to readers as we speak, includes an obituary of Gene Wettstone, the longtime gymnastics coach and pioneer in the sport who died July 30 at the age of 100.

The Penn State Sports Archives is paying tribute to Wettstone with an online selection of 30 vintage photos from both his coaching and his family life. There’s some great stuff in that album, including the shot above of Wettstone biking off to work in 1965. (Extra-credit bonus points if you can name the make and model of the station wagon.)
