I was so sorry to hear the news this morning that the chancellor of Penn State Fayette, Emmanuel Osagie, died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.
I met Dr. Osagie a little over a year ago when a group of Alumni Association senior staff spent a day visiting the Fayette campus; he impressed us all as smart, funny, warm, unpretentious, and enthusiastic. It was clear he was making an impact—check out the blog entry I wrote about that trip to see a sampling of what’s been going on at that campus.
Dr. Osagie was a native of Nigeria who earned an undergrad degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge and his Ph.D. from LSU. You can read more about his academic background here.
