Jason Fagone on Marvin Harrison

GQ Magazine yesterday posted a story by former Penn Stater magazine staff writer Jason Fagone ’01 (now a freelance writer in the Philadelphia area) that’s already generating a lot of buzz.
Called “The Dirtiest Player,” the piece looks at the possible—some say likely—role of former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison in a 2008 gunfight in Philadelphia and a subsequent murder in Philly this past September. It’s a case that hasn’t drawn a huge amount of media attention until now, and Jason did some amazing reporting and writing to bring it to light.
The article has attracted attention from The Sporting News and the Huffington Post, among others. Today ESPN.com is reporting that the FBI is getting involved in the case.
I started reading Jason’s article last night and couldn’t stop until I had finished it. One of the best articles I’ve read in a long time. (Warning: The story does contain a good bit of language that is, shall we say, not the sort of thing you would want to read out loud to your child at bedtime….)
