In a move that will surprise no one who watched him fly around the field this season, Penn State junior linebacker Navorro Bowman has announced he’s leaving school early to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. ESPN.com college football writer Joe Schad got the scoop (even if he didn’t spell “Navarro’s” first name right), apparently speaking to Bowman last night to confirm the news that most fans have been expecting. Bowman projects as a first-round pick and a potential NFL star; we’ll miss him, but he’d be crazy not to take the opportunity.
You can check out a video profile of Bowman on the GOPSF.com site here. (I’ve never figured out how to embed stuff from GOPSF, but for both the highlights and the insight into what Bowman has overcome, it’s worth clicking over and checking out.) Next time we see him in action, he’ll be playing on Sundays.
