Flynt Leverett on Iran

Today’s New York Times features an op-ed written by Flynt Leverett, professor in Penn State’s School of International Affairs, and his wife Hillary Mann Leverett. The topic is the United States’ ongoing attempts to engage the Iranian government, specifically in regard to Iran’s continued nuclear work, and it’s one Leverett knows well: Before joining the faculty at Penn State, he served at the CIA and the National Security Council.

Replace Islamic republic with Shah and you have transformed it from 2009 to 1979 . He thinks wanting change in iran is bad and to think that it will happen worse an presumptuous but to say it will not happen aka FLYNT LEVERETT every Op-Ed is to be smart and even handed. Let me say both are presumptuous but because the general opinion is one way and Leverett has spent years saying (and getting paid for it) theirs no way Iran can evolve into a normal state or it will be change from a grass roots movement it has to be that all other analysts are wrong . There is one great advantage though news papers and TV love two people arguing and when you are in the small minority which think iran has perfect system of Gov. you get on alot. Big stories where thousands of articles are written one fool proof way to get noticed is to say that the story is old news and far over blown. one thing Leverett worked for the CIA I think that he may have been he feels after the ghost WMDs without a lung full of mustard gas you cannot be sure if the bottle labeled mustard gas is mustard gas. America is also always wrong in Leverett articles a true case of holding a grudge with your former employer. Bye
