Rick Santorum for President?

With Barack Obama barely through the first half of his first year in office, it’s awfully early to think about who might challenge him in 2012. But then, for political watchers, it seems never too early for this sort of thing. Ben Smith at Politico.com tells us that former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum ’80, ’86 JD acknowledged today that he is considering a run for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
I imagine this won’t be the last we hear of it.
