THON Gets a Nice Plug

The New York Times’ “Freakonomics” blog had a short entry the other day about our very own THON, the gist of the piece being a sense of amazement that, in the face of some pretty lousy economic times, the Penn State dancers set yet another fund-raising record this year.
“There was legitimate concern that the fund-raising total would fall off significantly this year,” blogger Stephen Dubner writes. “But it didn’t.” Indeed, the dance marathon raised nearly $7.5 million, almost $875,000 more than last year.
Dubner and Steven Levitt are co-authors of the best-selling book Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.
